Before this shop ever had a name, before the tools were neatly organized on the wall, and long before customers across Stanly and Rowan counties trusted him with their machines, Austin was a kid in the Carolina dirt with a four-wheeler that never stayed running for long. What started as “fix it so I can ride again tomorrow” eventually became a skill, then a passion, and now a professional service built on real-world experience, honesty, and an obsession with getting engines to run as well as they should.

Austin’s love for small engines started the moment his family handed him his first four-wheeler at just ten years old. Most kids ride. Austin tore things apart — not because he wanted to break them, but because he had to understand how they worked.

Growing up riding ATVs, three-wheelers, and old ATCs with both of his uncles, Austin’s mechanical instincts were built in the dirt, the woods, and the garage. When something broke — and machines always break — money was tight. Repairs weren’t cheap, and waiting weeks for a shop wasn’t an option when you were a kid who wanted to ride the next day.

So he learned. Piece by piece. Bolt by bolt.

But the real spark came from his grandmother.
She owned several older machines that had been passed down through generations — some ran, some didn’t, and all of them needed attention. Austin spent countless hours tinkering on those engines, rebuilding carburetors, diagnosing mysterious sputters, and figuring out the right adjustments to bring old iron back to life. She gave him patience, encouragement, and a garage full of problems to solve — the perfect recipe for a mechanic in the making.

Today, Austin is pursuing his full small-engine certification, sharpening skills he’s already been practicing for more than two decades.
